Our customer’s home is located in Victoria, MN, and was a 2000’s build with a private backyard. He was facing a common problem that many families with growing kids face – the need for more finished square footage. The goal was to create a space in the basement where dad could get away to watch the football game, kids could eventually have sleepovers, and the grandparents could stay during a visit.
The homeowner chose Iron River Construction for their project due to our reputable local presence and ability to complete the project before Christmas. The client had great trust in our company to deliver a quality project in a timely manner.
During the consultation process, we provided a free onsite meeting and consultation. Custom cabinet drawings were provided, and a free estimate was given. We discussed design ideas, budget, and the timeline for the project. An additional 3D design was created to provide a visual of what the basement could look like.

From Framing to Luxury Finishes
Our team provided design drawings for the basement finish, followed by the creation of a detailed schedule that we adhered to. We completed framing, drywall, and paint in the basement. Additionally, we installed a gas fireplace with a stone surround and custom cabinetry in the family room. Luxury vinyl flooring was installed in most of the basement.
The basement bathroom was also finished with a basic shower surround, a custom vanity, and LVP floors. Carpet was installed in the guest bedroom with a large closet featuring double doors.
