Renovations: Bathroom Remodel
A Chaska resident had become frustrated with her 1990s era home’s master bathroom. A corner bathtub was rarely used and was taking up precious square footage. The décor was no longer stylish. The outdated tile and over-abundance of polished brass were in dire need of replacing.
The homeowner had worked with Iron River Construction on two previous home remodeling projects, including a kitchen remodel, and was very impressed with the results. She decided to employ us to bring her master bath out of the 1990s and into the 2020s.
Custom touches create an exceptional master bath
Our designers conducted a thorough consultation with the client to gain an understanding of her wish list so they could bring her vision to life.
To open the shower area, we suggested a clear glass enclosure, a smaller but still useful bathtub, and a custom-made oak vanity. The homeowner needed more storage but didn’t want it to detract from the appearance of the space, so we created ingeniously concealed storage towers for each side of the vanity.
To create a custom look, we suggested new floor tile and turning the shower tile to a 45-degree angle. Our client loved our designers’ ideas! Ultimately, we used different sizes, edges, and chair rails to keep the custom pattern alive throughout the space.
