Laurie advises that although there aren’t any guidelines written in stone, she finds that darker colored floors are more soothing and grounding.

However, when it comes to the heart of the matter, the only thing that matters when it comes to choosing colors for your kitchen remodel, your taste is the deciding factor.
There are a few tips to remember when picking flooring and cabinets, though.

• The darkest and lightest floors are hardest to keep clean.
• Medium brown floors are usually the easiest to maintain.
• It’s best not to overload on any one color. Balance tends to be easiest on the eyes.

Almost any color combination can make a kitchen comfortable, but keep in mind how much time you want to use when cleaning the room. Otherwise, have fun decorating!
